Horse Breeding
Trakehner horses are raised and sold. The Trakehner horse (Trakehner, Trakenen) was developed in East Prussia and later spread throughout former Germany and neighboring countries. Young horses are trained for riding and harness work after reaching three years of age. Mares undergo one year of training, while stallions complete 2–3 years of training, which strengthens their constitution and supports proper selection. Systematic training has created excellent riding qualities. Trakehner horses are considered among the best in Europe for equestrian competitions.
