The aim of the study is to analyze the structure of cash flows in dairy sheep breeding farms in
Bulgaria.
Questionnaire information was collected from two dairy sheep breeding farms, which raise 90 and
314 ewes, respectively. The different categories of cash flows from operating activities were
studied and the net operating result in 2016 was calculated. In the smaller farm the animals are
from Stara Zagora breed, and in the larger one - from Synthetic Population Bulgarian Milk.
The analysis showed that the larger farm is more efficient in terms of the generated net cash flow
and in general the animals have higher milk yield and are in better health condition. In the farm
with 90 ewes the net cash flow per 1 ewe is 11 BGN, while in the farm with 314 ewes, the value
of this indicator is 223 BGN. The reasons for the lower financial result of the farm with 90 ewes
are mainly the lower milk yield of the animals and the higher percentage of infertility.
